2021 Open Roles

Below are the open roles for the 2021 Creative Fellowship. We encourage you to read the descriptions and select the creative role(s) that feel most applicable to you and your interests. You may select more than one role and roles are subject to change.

REQUIREMENTS

Before you dive in, please review the following requirements to ensure you can fully commit to the program.

  • As of April 2021, you will have work authorization in the country selected.
  • As of April 2021, you will be of legal age to work in the country selected.
  • You can speak and write English fluently.
  • You are able to commit to the Creative Fellowship for nine months (April 2021 – December 2021).
  • You understand that you will be employed as a freelancer via Google’s staffing partners.

Material Design - US

Product Designer
Material Design is a cross-product, cross-platform design + engineering team working across Google on next-generation product designs. Our mission is “Beautiful Design, Google Scale.” We’re looking for a junior designer to help design and build the fundamental guidelines and components that make up Material Design as part of our Material Platform team.


Visual Designer
Material Design is a cross-product, cross-platform design + engineering team working across Google on next-generation product designs. Our mission is “Beautiful Design, Google Scale.” We’re looking for a junior designer to contribute to the visual evolution of Material Design through graphic design, iconography, and typography as part of the Material Platform team.


Devices & Services - US

Content Writer
As a Content Writer on the Devices & Services Marketing team, you keep a pulse on social media and pop culture. In this role, you’ll conceive and execute breakthrough ideas that will impact and strengthen users’ views of our brand and hardware products. You will use our social channels to produce the kind of share-worthy work that will make people say “dang, I wish I had thought of that!”


Designer
As a Designer on the Devices & Services Marketing team, you are someone who’s interested in understanding how a brand story comes alive through different direct-to-consumer channels such as stores and e-commerce. You will have the opportunity to flex into various channels revolving around the consumer’s experience. We’re looking for a designer who is passionate about graphic design, interaction design, packaging, or consumer experience design.


Writer
As a creative Writer on the Devices & Services Marketing team, you are someone who’s interested in understanding how to bring a brand story to the consumer. Writers are integral to our creative process and play a pivotal role in the conception and execution of transformative brand and product experiences. We are looking for a writer who is passionate and motivated to learn and ideate.


Brand Studio - US

Visual Designer
As a Visual Designer in Brand Studio, you will work with creative leadership and key marketing partners to deliver our product stories and services to the world through identities, our websites, apps, mobile, and experiences. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of brand identities, key interactive experiences, brand campaigns, and a design language that captures the character of Google’s brands.


Motion Designer
As a Motion Designer, you will contribute to the development of key interactive experiences, and the design language that captures the character of Google’s brands. You will collaborate daily with a diverse set of specialists from graphic designers, developers, information architects, marketers, project managers, and writers to create these experiences.


Copywriter
Writers are integral to the creative process and play a pivotal role in the strategy, conception, and execution of transformative brand experiences. As a Copywriter in the Brand Studio, you will work with creative leadership to tell stories and create compelling content for our brand moments, websites, and platforms. You will work collaboratively with other writers, designers, strategists, and producers. You possess a passion for storytelling, have idea-first thinking, and are able to communicate clearly to our users.
