The creative industry’s conspicuous lack of diversity in class, color, disability, gender, sexuality, and perspective is having a direct impact on the depth and breadth of storytelling, ideas, and innovation.
We need to support the transformation of the industry by feeding the pipeline with the right people, creating opportunities for diverse talent, and working hard to retain and develop those already in the industry.
To that end, we’ve created three unique offerings to support underrepresented talent at different points in their career journeys. We help them get industry-ready with Creative Campus. The Creative Fellowship provides them with hands-on work experience. And our Leadership Accelerator positions them for success as the leaders of tomorrow.
We’re currently welcoming applicants for 2020 Leadership Accelerator sessions. While this year’s Campus and Fellowship admissions have closed, we look forward to hosting a new cohort in 2021.

Leadership teams of creative companies across the globe are lacking in diversity of gender, race, sexuality, ability, class, and perspective – especially at the top.
The Rare Leadership Accelerator aims to reverse this trend. Rare Leadership Accelerator is for underrepresented future creative leaders who wish to fundamentally change the creative industries for the better. It equips attendees with the connections, insight, skills, and tools to succeed in a post-Covid world, fast-tracking underrepresented talent to the top.
A lack of diversity has been proven to fundamentally hold back creativity and innovation, and many organisations are missing out on both talent and opportunity. Rare Leadership Accelerator puts underrepresented talent at the heart of the story, ensuring they thrive today, and lead tomorrow.

Between elite universities and portfolio schools, the industry has created a talent loop. Our workplaces are largely homogenous. This is why we’re looking outside typical networks to find exceptional talent to join us.
We’re inviting emerging creative talent from a variety of disciplines – writing, art direction, filmmaking, visual design, product design, and more – to work with Google’s creative teams for nine months. You don’t need a degree or a portfolio to apply, just passion. Participants can expect hands-on experience with projects, one-on-one mentorship, networking opportunities, events, and speakers.
The Creative Fellowship ushers in a new, diverse generation of talent – and benefits the industry at large by bringing in fresh, innovative perspectives.
