John C Jay is the President of Brand Creative for Fast Retailing, owner of Uniqlo.
An inductee of the Art Director Club's Hall of Fame and the Retail Marketing Hall of Fame; named in the top 10 of the '50 Most Influential Art Directors of the Past 50 Years' by Design USA; and listed in FastCo's '100 Most Creative People in Business', John Jay is a creative industry legend known for crafting connections between people, cultures, spaces and technology.
Jay is also a partner and trustee of Wieden+Kennedy, where he shared the Global Executive Creative Director role with founder Dan Wieden for nine years. Jay was responsible for opening the W+K Tokyo Office in 1998 where served as ECD for six years, as well as opening W+K Shanghai and New Delhi a short time later. In addition to his global role, Jay served as Creative Director for the Nike U.S. account in the Portland office, where he also worked on Coca-Cola and Microsoft.
Previous to Wieden + Kennedy, Jay worked in fashion retail marketing for 12 years as Creative Director and later as Executive Vice-President of Marketing and Creative Services for Bloomingdale's in New York City. He led the creative and marketing effort for the store's iconic international promotions, fashion campaigns and always surprising shopping bags.
